O lord,
I had been in love with You;
I loved you.
Why so at the time, I don't know.
Why,
On my psyche You had painted colors;
I did not know then.
Ever since, those hues I don't expunge.

You remain intoxicated in innumerable colours
I'd been weeping in my dark shrine,
and with these,
Thinking that there is nobody mine.
You coloured my mind.
From the sky of light You'd spoken, bidding:
You are here, why do I fear...
That I had been forgetting You,
But You don't take any umbrage.

These colours,
Under daylight I'd been smiling,
I was unable to wipe out back then.
But at dusk my countenance I've concealed.

With two hands my face You'd raised;
I cried in a dark house,
You had said: "I have remained;
thinking i had no one of my own.
You, notice Me, understand Me!"

But still, I don't recognize Thee.
From the sky of effulgence
You announced aloud:
"i am here, so why fear?"

I forgot that you
do not entertain any suppression of feelings.

I got up during the daylight
and hid my face in the evening.

You held my face with both hands.
You lifted up
and told me:

"i am here,
look at me
and understand me".

But even then,
I failed to recognise you.
