Tomári tare kata ná keṋdechi
Tabu ele náko mor ghare
Málá gáṋthiyáchi vedii sájiyechi
Diip jváliyáchi priiti bhare

Práńer devatá kothá gele tumi
Rikta rekhe ámár citibhúmi
Smarańe tomáy shata shata nami
Prańám laite cáho phire

Karite páro já icchá tava
Tuccha kare e jiivan ásava
E ásave jválá álok utsava
Dite diipávali tomáre

তোমারই তরে কত না কেঁদেছি
তবু এলে নাকো মোর ঘরে
মালা গাঁথিয়াছি বেদী সাজিয়েছি
দীপ জ্বালিয়াছি প্রীতি ভরে'

প্রাণের দেবতা কোথা' গেলে তুমি
রিক্ত রেখে' আমার চিতিভূমি
স্মরণে তোমায় শত শত নমি
প্রণাম লইতে চাই ফিরে'

করিতে পার যা ইচ্ছা তব
তুচ্ছ করে' এ জীবন-আসব
এ আসবে জ্বালা আলোক-উৎসব
দিতে দীপাবলি তোমারে

For You only, so much I've lamented;
Nonetheless, You came not to my dwelling..
A wreath I have strung, an altar I've embellished;
Filled with love, a candle I am lighting.

Heart's Deity, whereto did You vanish,
Having left empty my country psychic?
In memory, to You I bow by the hundreds;
Please look back, my salutation to receive.

You can do what You like, whatever is Your desire,
Slighting this existential wine.
By this wine ignited is a splendid festivity,
Presenting a line of lights to Thee.
