Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi sakal práńer priya
Bhuvane advitiiya
Náshi maner áṋdhár ár kuyáshá dharár
Jiṋán-shalákáy ajiṋatá sario

Kata jug cale geche srśt́idháráy
Kata tárá jhare geche ajasra bár
Kata je káṋdá hásá kata je jáoyá ásá
Carań dhúlite tava he varańiiya

Kata je krśńánishi kaomudii
Kata sukh saritá duhkhera nadii
Kata rakamer páoyá mlán mukhe kata cáoyá
Tomákei ghire náce he smarańiiya

O lord, you are most beloved of everyone,
one without a second in the world.
destroying the darkness of the mind,
and fog of the world,
with the torch of knowledge, remove my ignorance.
many ages have gone in the flow of creation.
many stars have fallen innumerable times.
many cries and smiles, many coming and going,
have taken place at Your feet, o the Revered.
how many dark and moonlit nights,
how many streams of joy and rivers of sorrows,
how many kinds of achievements
and how many desires of dull faces,
all go on dancing surrounding you,
o the rememberable.
