Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámár bhuvan kálo haye áche
Álor devatá ájo ela ná
Phuler kaliká phut́ite páre ni
Korakete madhu bhará gela ná

Phuler bágicá trńer gálicá
Jalábháve tár hala náko báṋcá
Nidágh tapane prakhara pavane
Varaśár vári d́hálá hala ná

Sádhá sauṋgiit gáite pári ná
Báṋdhá path dhare calite pári ná
Tava krpá biná kichui hay ná
Bujhi niko tái krpá jharila ná

O lord,
my home became dark,
the lord of effulgence did not come to this day.

The buds of my flower could not bloom,
their hearts were not filled with honey.

The carpet of grass in my floral garden
could not survive due to shortage of water.

Due to intense heat and strong hot winds,
rainfall could not take place.

I could not sing the melody that i had rehearsed,
and hence, i could not travel on a fixed path.

Nothing can happen without your grace.

I could not understand
that his grace would not shower.
