Ami dhulikana alor sagare is the 576th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]
Lyrics
Roman script[nb 1] | Bengali script | Translation |
---|---|---|
Ámi dhúlikańá álor ságare |
আমি ধূলিকণা আলোর সাগরে |
I'm a speck of dust in a sea of light; |
Notes
- ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
- ^ The translation of this last line depends on the interpretation of the final word, kare (করে). It could be treated as either a verb or a noun. In the verbal form, ek kare would mean "made one". In the nominal form, ek kare would mean "in/with one ray of light". In other words, the last line could be translated: "Today, the many were made one." Ultimately, both interpretations of that line carry the same import; and both interpretations are consistent with the rest of the lyrics. Perhaps, the one preferred in this article is a bit subtler.
