Khuṋje gechi dhará dáo ni
Tiirthe tiirthe prántare pathe
Konakháne dekhá pái ni

Áshá niráshár dodul doláy
Man chút́e geche kata ajánáy
Jiṋáncarcáy tarkasabháy
Kichutei kichu hay ni

Ságare gabhiire vane upavane
Puśper kata rúpáyatane
Khuṋje beŕiyechi gagane pavane
Maner gahane khuṋji ni

আমি তোমার সন্ধানে অদ্রি-কাননে
খুঁজে গেছি ধরা দাও নি
তীর্থে তীর্থে প্রান্তরে পথে
কোনখানে দেখা পাই নি

আশা-নিরাশার দোদুল দোলায়
মন ছুটে’ গেছে কত অজানায়
জ্ঞানচর্চায় তর্কসভায়
কিছুতেই কিছু হয় নি

সাগরে গভীরে বনে উপবনে
পুষ্পের কত রূপায়তনে
খুঁজে' বেড়িয়েছি গগনে পবনে
মনের গহনে খুঁজি নি

O lord,
I am in search of you.

I went to my garden to look for you
but you did not let yourself be caught.

Oscillating in the swing of hope and dispair,
my mind rushes onto innumerable unknown worlds.

From wisdom talks
and discussions on philosophy,
nothing was ever gained.

I searched you
in the depths of the sea,
in gardens and forests,
in the various beautiful forms of flowers,
in the sky and in the air...
but i did not search you
in the depth of my mind.
