Lyrics

Roman script Bengali script Translation

Dáo sáŕá ogo prabhu chande gáne
Dáo sáŕá ogo prabhu nrtye tále
Ogo priyatam devatá ámár
Nidrá jakhan tumi nije bháungále
Eso nritye tále, eso nritye tále

Timir jagate ámi chinu acetan
Mihir jiivane mor ásile nútan
Álor chat́áy tumi e kii karile
Ámár jiivan man raunge rángále
Eso nritye tále eso nritye tále

Tumi mane matále, mane matále
Eso nrtye tále eso nritye tále
Sab kuheliká bhedi marme ele
Eso nritye tále, eso nritye tále

Please respond, O Lord, in rhythm and song.
Please respond, O Lord, in dance and cadence.
O my dearest Lord!
When You Yourself aroused me from slumber,
Come dancing in rhythm, come dancing in rhythm.

I was unconscious in the world of darkness
when You came like a blazing sun.
Flooding my life with Your colourful radiance,
You intoxicated my mind.
O Lord, come dancing in rhythm, come dancing in rhythm.

Piercing through the fog of confusion,
Come into the core of my heart.
Come dancing in rhythm, come dancing in rhythm.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[3]

O Paramapurus'a (Supreme Consciousness), come to me with the rhythm of Your dance and with Your sweetness. Do not come in any crude form, in the form of violence, in the form of darkness, in the form of terror. I want to have You through the sweet melody of songs and the sweet rhythms of dance. I want to be one with You through these rhythms. I was in deep slumber and You awakened me. You led me on with Your sweetness and rhythm. You coloured my life with Your colour. Now, please come close to my heart. Please touch me.
