Diip jvele jái áṋdháre sadái (ámi)
Maner tamasá bhule thákite cái
Shaláká ámár háte dio prabhu
Álo jvele balákár sama bhese jái

Vishver tamonásh sabákár mahápráń
Tomár sakásh ene dey nava nava gán
Bhuvane bhuvane bhare dey chanda tán
Nirvák vismaye úrdhve tákái

Tomár shikháy prabhu tomári diip jválái
Tomár ghrta salitá ámár kichui nái
Sei álo diye kálo dúre sariye jái
Dekhi tumi cháŕá keha nái

দীপ জ্বেলে' যাই আঁধারে সদাই (আমি)
মনের তমসা ভুলে' থাকিতে চাই
শলাকা আমার হাতে দিও প্রভু
আলো জ্বেলে' বলাকার সম ভেসে' যাই

বিশ্বের তমোনাশ সবাকার মহাপ্রাণ
তোমার সকাশ এনে দেয় নব নব গান
ভুবনে ভুবনে ভরে' দেয় ছন্দ-তান
নির্বাক বিস্ময়ে ঊর্ধ্বে তাকাই

তোমার শিখায় প্রভু তোমারই দীপ জ্বালাই
তোমার ঘৃত সলিতা আমার কিছুই নাই
সেই আলো দিয়ে কালো দূরে সরিয়ে যাই
দেখি তুমি ছাড়া কেহ নাই

O lord, i always go on kindling the lamp in darkness,
as i want to forget the mental darkness.
give in my hands the torch flame,
so that kindling the light, I should go on
gliding like swan.
o the great vital force of all,
destroy the darkness of the world,
your nearness brings evernew song.
it fills melody and rhythm fills different worlds.
thus speechless with astonishment
i look upwards. with your flame, o lord,
i light your lamp. The ghee and the wick
is yours only, nothing belongs to me.
providing that illumination,
i go on removing the darkness,
as i see that there is nothing
other than You.
