Tomare khunjite giye bare bar is the 2971st song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomáre khuṋjite giye báre bár
Ásháhata haye esechi
Karuńá nayane kśańek cáo
Krpákańá jece calechi

Nijer karite abhiprakásh
Ná jániyá kari nijeri násh
Ańumánaser ánbo vikásh
Tamasá diirńa karechi

Bhálabháve jáni mor kichu nái
Tomár jinis[nb 2] mor bale jái
Abhávete bhuge bhávi nái nái
Ceye dekhi ná kii peyechi

Time after time I have gone in search of You;
I've returned, having become stymied.
For a moment, look on with eyes of compassion;
A tiny speck of mercy I have kept imploring.

To promote myself,
Unknowingly, I achieve only self-wreck.
Henceforth I'll evoke unit mind's development;
Gloomy ignorance I have been rending.

Nothing do I possess, that I know well;
Yet Your things, mine I go on calling them.
I believe naught is there, suffering from indigence;
I don't view closely what I have received.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ The Bangla and Roman script source is split as to whether this word should be jinis or jinise. In this context both would have the same meaning, but perhaps jinis is a bit more elegant.
