In nights of sorrow, on me You dote.
In nights of sorrow, on me You dote.

When stars twinkle in the firmament
When stars shine brightly in the sky,
and we are surrounded by plenty,
And all around fortune abounds,
we cannot get a glimpse of you.
Then I get no glimpse of Thee;
Only after we lose everything
Only after all is lost, You've given peace.
do you offer consolation.

When the enchanting breeze of autumn

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Diner áloy kena áso ni
Ráter áṋdháre tumi esecho
Sukher dinete dekhá dáo ni
Duhkher ráte bhálobesecho

Ákáshe ujjvala tárá
Parivesh rddhite bhará
Takhan tomár dekhá pái ni
Sab háránor pare sántvaná diyecho

Madhumáse caetáli váy
Pulake shiharań jágáy
Takhan tomáke káche pái ni
Tiivra dáhane sáthe shiitalatá enecho

Why don't You appear by daylight;
You have come only in dark of night.
On days of joy, not a sight You show;
In nights of sorrow, on me You dote.

When stars shine brightly in the sky,
And all around fortune abounds,
Then I get no glimpse of Thee;
Only after all is lost, You've given peace.

When the enchanting breeze of autumn
awakens delight,
we do not find you close.
You bring soothing coolness
only in the midst of intense heat.
