On this smiling morning,
On this same bright moonlight mind goes sailing;
the mind goes on floating,
Whereto, I don't perceive.
i do not know whereto.
It moves ever contemplating, speaking measured words;
with thoughts after thoughts,
Yet peace goes unobtained by psyche.
i go on estimating,

speaking to myself,
You've given me a legacy of expectation;
but peace does not come to mind.
I failed to do the work, my riches so much.
You have given me
I have kept holding, I've wanted to extend;
beyond my expectations.
But for whom I know not, unfortunately.
but i have put them to use

all that wealth.
I've kept making mistakes even after blunders;
i hold it and want to enhance,
I've not investigated consciousness.
what for, alas, i do not know.
But today I've discovered Your effulgence;
i went on making mistakes after mistakes.
Bondage being rent gave that thing.
i never wanted to see
towards the consciousness.
today i got your illumination,
thus breaking the bondages.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ei smita jyotsnáy man bhese jáy
Jáni ná ámi kotháy
Bheve bheve cale mepe kathá bale
Mane shánti ná páoyá jáy

Diyecho ámáre áshár atiita
Káje lágáini sampada ata
Dhariyá rekhechi báŕáte ceyechi
Kár tare náhi jáni háy

Bhuler pareo bhul kare gechi
Samvit páne ceye ná dekhechi
Ájike tomár álok peyechi
Bandhan chiṋŕe dilo táy

On this same bright moonlight mind goes sailing;
Whereto, I don't perceive.
It moves ever contemplating, speaking measured words;
Yet peace goes unobtained by psyche.

You've given me a legacy of expectation;
I failed to do the work, my riches so much.
I have kept holding, I've wanted to extend;
But for whom I know not, unfortunately.

I've kept making mistakes even after blunders;
I've not investigated consciousness.
But today I've discovered Your effulgence;
Bondage being rent gave that thing.
