Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Jalbhará meghe bijali hániyá
Krśńá nishiithe esechile
Práńbhará áshá bhálabásá niye
Maner mukure hesechile (tumi)

Tákiye chilám jaŕer jagate
Jaŕer májháre ánanda pete
Tava mukha páne bárek dekhini
Dekhini tumi phiriyá gele

Mátiyá chilám nijer áveshe
Svárthabodhete shudhu bhálobese
Bhávini ámi je tava kalpaná
Sárátsár je tumi chile

O lord,
with flashes of lightning in the clouds,
You came in the dark night.

With unbound love and hope,
You smiled in my mental mirror.

I had been looking at the material world only,
enjoying pleasures in inertness.
I never looked at you even once,
I did not see that you had returned back.

I was intoxicated in the sentiment of self,
loving only selfish thinking.
I did not think that i too am but your imagination,
for, you exist as the essence of all essences.
