Why are your eyes overflowing with tears?
Why do your eyes brim with streaming tears?
Who brought to you today this untimely cloud?
Oh what has brought you down,
An undue monsoon now?
Upon your cheeks why does the light rebound?
With Whose love are they glistening?

Why is light scattered all over your cheeks?
Aided by ambrosia's essence in your neck,
By whose love does it brighten?
And a milkmaid's{{#tag:ref|This is a reference to the young Krsna's devoted gopiis in Vrndavan.|group="nb"}} load of love borne in your breast,
You float off to some remote sphere.
Who is He that calls you endlessly?

Carrying a load of fragrant nectar in your throat
To your path of movement there's no finish;
and the weight of a devotee’s love (gopika's),
What you long for, it is nectar limitless.
You move on far.
Is that why, shunning all, ascetic's garb you have worn?

Oh touchstone-streak{{#tag:ref|In the past a touchstone, black and flint-like, was used to test the purity of gold by the streak left on it when the gold was rubbed.|group="nb"}} pristine, you are in fixed ideation.
Who is it that keeps calling you pauselessly?
There is no end to the path that leads unto him.
Whoever it is you want,
He is immeasurable and endless.

Leaving behind everything,
why do you put on the garb of a renunciate?

O perfectly pure one,
You ever remain as the constant ideation of all.

Kena ankhi chalachala jala bhare is the 1291st song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Kena áṋkhi chalachala jala bhare
Nábla ki re
Áji akále bádal áji akále bádal
Kena álo t́hiikre paŕe kapola pare
Kár priitite ujal kár priitite ujal

Sahakár sudhásár kańt́he niye
Gopikár priitibhár vakśe baye
Tumi bhese cale jáo kon sudúre
Ke se d́áke aviral ke se d́áke aviral

Tomár calár pathe náhi kona sheś
Tumi járe cáo se je amiya asheś
Sab cheŕe tái ki dharecha jogii vesh
Ogo nikaśa vimal tumi bháve avical

Why do your eyes brim with streaming tears?
Oh what has brought you down,
An undue monsoon now?
Upon your cheeks why does the light rebound?
With Whose love are they glistening?

Aided by ambrosia's essence in your neck,
And a milkmaid's[nb 2] load of love borne in your breast,
You float off to some remote sphere.
Who is He that calls you endlessly?

To your path of movement there's no finish;
What you long for, it is nectar limitless.
Is that why, shunning all, ascetic's garb you have worn?
Oh touchstone-streak[nb 3] pristine, you are in fixed ideation.
