In the light of beauty,
In the light of form only, the formless we have found;
I attained the formless one!
One beyond form has come into our house.
To my home,
In the bud of mind only, the Sweet we've embraced.
came he who is beyond form!
One beyond thought, His apprehension He gave.

In the bud of my mind
With philosophy we can't behold, with science we don't know;
I held the embodiment of sweetness
Confined to theology, we don't find Him even close.
when one beyond thought,
Through love we've realized Him and held Him in our heart;
came into my fold.
And all eyes have seen Him now to their heart's content.

I did not see him in philosophy,
Full of rhythm and song echoing devotion,
I could not understand him
Gripped by a dance beat to sweet-scented conception,
through scientific knowledge
Filled with honey of goodwill in tones that are dreamy,
nor did I find him in theological gospels.
All beings have surely understood through genuine experience.

I attained him by love
and kept him in the midst of my heart,
when all eyes eagerly looked upon him.

By a loving sound
so full of rhythm and song,
the earth became filled
with fragrance and contemplation.

By a dreamy voice
full of affection and sweetness,
all entities understood him
in actual experience.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Rúperi áloke arúpe peyechi
Rúpátiita ghare eseche
Maneri korake madhumay dharechi
Bhávátiita dhará diyeche

Darshane dekhini vijiṋáne bujhini
Tattvakathár dháre kácheo je páini
Bhálobese peyechi hiyámájhe rekhechi
Sakal nayan táre práń bhare dekheche

Chande gáne bhará anuráge rańane
Nrtyer tále dhará saorabhe manane
Mamatámadhu bhará svapnila svanane
Sarva sattá táre anubhave bujheche

In the light of form only, the formless we have found;
One beyond form has come into our house.
In the bud of mind only, the Sweet we've embraced.
One beyond thought, His apprehension He gave.

With philosophy we can't behold, with science we don't know;
Confined to theology, we don't find Him even close.
Through love we've realized Him and held Him in our heart;
And all eyes have seen Him now to their heart's content.

Full of rhythm and song echoing devotion,
Gripped by a dance beat to sweet-scented conception,
Filled with honey of goodwill in tones that are dreamy,
All beings have surely understood through genuine experience.
