On a stormy night You came
On a stormy night You came
Amid the sound of thunder.
Amid the sound of thunder.
Lightning falling with torrential rain,
Lightning falling with pouring rain,
You war cry spread around the world.
Your war cry spread across the earth.

The weighty mountain of corruption,
Weighty mountains of corruption,
Withstood not the impact of Your stream.
Stood not the impact of Your stream.
Those who blacked out earth's effulgence,
Those who blacked out earth's effulgence,
They were washed away somewhere.
They were washed away somewhere.

who created walls of separation amongst human beings,
Fomenting splits among human beings,
who battered tender hearts.
Tender hearts they did impair.
They polluted the fresh breeze with sin,
Friendly winds they poisoned with their sin,
but now they have vanished.
But they were expelled elsewhere.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Varaśár ráte tumi esechile
Vajrakant́he dhvaniyá
Ashaninipáte múśaladháráte
Hunkáre dhará bhariyá

Parvatasama ávilatá bhár
Jaler toŕete rahilo ná ár
(Járá) Dharár áloke kálo karechilo
Tárá gelo kothá bhásiyá

Mánave mánave bhed jágáiyá
Jiirńa kareche sukomal hiyá
Madhura vátáse pápe viśáiche
Tárá gelo dúre sariyá́

On a stormy night You came
Amid the sound of thunder.
Lightning falling with pouring rain,
Your war cry spread across the earth.

Weighty mountains of corruption,
Stood not the impact of Your stream.
Those who blacked out earth's effulgence,
They were washed away somewhere.

Fomenting splits among human beings,
Tender hearts they did impair.
Friendly winds they poisoned with their sin,
But they were expelled elsewhere.
