Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámáke priya tumi bhuliyá gecho
Tomáke bhálabásár áro aneke áche
Tuccha ámi bujhecho

Neiko ámár priya buddhi dhrti bal
Neiko saiṋcita shubha saḿskár-phal
Vedanásikta cokhe lavańákta jal
Tái ki dúre sarecho

Tava pújásthaliir ámi je mrt-pradiip
Kampra vakśe duli' jena ádh phot́á niip
Gharmalipta bhále kuruvinda t́ip
Bhule' gecho bháloi karecho

O Dear Lord, You have forgotten me.
There are many devotees and lovers of Yours,
and You consider me most meager.
O Dear, I have no strength of wisdom and retention.
I have no accumulation of
good results of sam’ska’ras.
My eyes are wet with the tears of pain,
is it due to why You remain away?
On the altar of Your worship, I am an earthen lamp.
I swing on the trembling bosom
like a half bloomed niip flower,
and loose like the mark
on the sweat-drenched forehead.
You have done good that You have forgotten me.
