Katabár bhávi bhule jábo
Tava kathá ár ná smaribo
Man theke tomáy muche dobo

Thákite dile ná ekelá

ভুলেও যায় না ভোলা তোমায়

মনের মাঝে লুকিয়ে আছো
করেছো উতলা

তব প্রাণঢালা বাঁশী
আমারে করে যে উদাসী
না দেখিয়াও ভালবাসি
মনে প্রাণে পাই দোলা

কতবার ভাবি ভুলে' যাব
তব কথা আর না স্মরিব
মন থেকে' তোমায় মুছে দোব
পারি না কী তব লীলা
প্রাণের গোপন এ কি করে দিলে
থাকিতে দিলে না একেলা

With You even forgot, ignoring does not succeed;
Even forgotten, one cannot ignore.
Within mind You lie hidden;
You have made anxious.

Your life-giving bamboo flute,
Mundanity it makes me indifferent to.
Even not viewing, I still love You;
In mind and heart I get swung.

Often I think I will forget–
Regarding You no more I'll recollect,
From mind I will expunge Yourself;
But I cannot... what is Your cosmic sport–
What is this vital secret You permitted?
To remain alone You did not accord.
