Jágile je din srśt́i sthiti pralayer devatá mama

Sedin chilo náko kona visheśań
Chilo ná rúper sáj chilo ná ábhuśań
Patrer marmar vihager kalarav
Chilo náko kona kichu he anupam

Elo phul phal jal elo madhurimá
Elo mánuśer hiyá sudhára tanimá
Elo jáhá kichu bhálo sare' gelo sab kálo
Práńe práńe dhará dile he nirupam

নির্গুণ অম্বরে ডম্বরু সঞ্চরে অম্বুদর্চি সম
জাগিলে যে দিন সৃষ্টি-স্থিতি-প্রলয়ের দেবতা মম

সেদিন ছিল নাকো কোন বিশেষণ
ছিল না রূপের সাজ ছিল না আভূষণ
পত্রের মর্মর বিহগের কলরব
ছিল নাকো কোন কিছু হে অনুপম

এলো ফুল ফল জল এলো মধুরিমা
এলো মানুষের হিয়া সুধার তনিমা
এলো যাহা কিছু ভালো সরে' গেল সব কালো
প্রাণে প্রাণে ধরা দিলে হে নিরুপম

In sky with no attributes, a damru roams like rain resplendent,
Oh my Lord of G-O-D,[nb 2] the day You awakened.

At that time, there'd not been any distinction;
There'd been no embellishment, no decoration of form.
A bird's chirping or a leaf's rustle,
There had been nothing, hey the Peerless One.

Then came bloom, fruit, and water, arrived sweetness;
Came the human psyche and nectar's refinement.
Came everything that is good, vanished all that's black;
Unto each heart You did yield, hey the Unrivaled One.
