Shástra darshan carcá kari
Dhyánáveshe anunyáse
Tomár kari sádhaná

D́ákiyá jái jiivan bhare
Áshár pare ásháy dhare
He liilámay ciracinmay
Tomár jáci karuńá

প্রভু তুমি কত দূরে
জানিতে পারি না
কাছে এসে' যাও যে সরে'
এ লীলা বুঝি না

প্রয়াস করি' তোমায় ধরি
শাস্ত্র দর্শন চর্চা করি
ধ্যানাবেশে অণুন্যাসে
তোমার করি সাধনা

ডাকিয়া যাই জীবন ভরে'
আশার পরে আশায় ধরে'
হে লীলাময় চিরচিন্ময়
তোমার যাচি করুণা

Lord, how far You are,
I cannot perceive.
Having come close, You go and withdraw;
I don't understand this activity.

I hold on to You, I try;
Both scripture and philosophy study I.
With my store atomic, rapt in meditation,
I practice the sadhana of Thee.

My whole life, calling I carry on,
Having clung to hope after expectation.
Hey the Sportive One, e'er Wisdom Personified,
Your kindness I entreat.
