Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi chile sukhashayane
Ámi d́eke' gechi priya d́eke' gechi
Mor d́ák pasheniko alas tava shravańe
Tabu áshá náhi cheŕechi

Vaekuńt́he tumi nidrámagna chile
Kat́hor dharáy mor din geche avahele
Mor páne tumi bhule' cáhoni áṋkhi mele'
Dekhoni kata keṋdechi

Phul phal átap jal sabi áche tomári
Mor nái kichu ámi tava krpábhikhári
Gośt́he gośt́he náco adhare ośt́he háso
Máyághume náhi bhulechi

O Lord, I continued calling You,
but You were sleeping happily, O Dear.
Into Your open ears, my calls never entered,
still I never lost hope.
You were engrossed in sleep in the heaven,
and my days passed under negligence
on this hard earth.
Opening the eyes, You never looked at me
even by mistake, and did not see
how much I cried.
The flowers, fruits, sunlight,
water all belong to You.
Nothing belongs to me
and I am beggar of Your grace.
You go on dancing in all assembly-grounds,
smiling charmingly with Your lips.
This fog of illusion, ma’ya’,
I do not forget.
