Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi hásáte jáno tumi káṋdáte jáno
Palake lukote jáno liiláchale
Dakhin malay váy shyámashrii vanacháy
Veńuká bájiye jáo marmamúle

Atal apár tumi sarvalokáshray
Kona kichuri sauṋge tava tulaná ná hay
Ananta anádi he parama mahodadhi
Sarvádhik tumi dev kále akále

Jata tháke bhay láj jata tháke kalmaś
Cakite sare jáy peye tomári parash
Iśt́er je sádhaná durlabh je preśańá
Nimeśe d́háliyá dáo mantrabale

You know how to make laugh, how to make cry You know;
In a wink You know how to hide by trickery of Sport.
A mild southern wind blows, beguiles a verdant beauty;
And You go on playing a pipe of bamboo at heart's core.

Immensely vast and deep, You're the universal shelter;
Keeping company with everyone, there is none Your likeness.
Hey the Ocean Supreme, beginningless and endless,
In good times and bad, the greatest Deity You are.

Whatever fear or shame endures, whatever dirt remains,
Instantly it gets removed, Your touch having gained.
Sadhana is of the Cherished One, the dispatch hard to attain;
Steadfastly You permit a pouring of strength from mantra.

Currently, only the following audio rendition is available. Unfortunately, for some unknown reason the singer adds the word tumi at the beginning of the refrain line. This is not supported by any published Bengali source, it is not logically required, and it enhances neither melody nor lyrics.
