Din geche d́eke d́eke
Nishá áṋkhira udake
Dekheo ki dekhoniko
Shune shono ná

Marma viińári táre
Dhvani tolo jhaḿkáre
Bhálabásá dáo shudhu
Nite cáo ná

তুমি কেন কাছে আস না
শুনে' থাকি মধুর নাকি
কাজে দেখি না

দিন গেছে ডেকে' ডেকে'
নিশা আঁখির উদকে
দেখেও কি দেখোনিকো
শুনে' শোনো না

মর্ম বীণারই তারে
ধ্বনি তোল ঝংকারে
ভালবাসা দাও ধুধু
নিতে চাও না

Oh You, why don't You come near?
Of sweetness I keep listening,
But in action I don't see.

Calling, calling, days have gone by;
Nights transpire with tears in eyes.
Though having seen, didn't You notice?
Having heard, You don't hear.

On strings of my inmost lyre,
To jingling notes You give rise.
But fondness You just furnish;
You don't wish to receive.
