The sky and air exude ambrosia—
Sky and air are nectar's essence;
Krśńa summons from the clouds.
From dark clouds comes a summons.
In my heart sweetly sounds
Sweetly sounding in the core of heart
The ''Páiṋcajanya'' conch.{{#tag:ref|''Páiṋcajanya'' (পাঞ্চ্জন্য) is the name of Krśńa's conch, the blowing of which signifies victory in the war of dharma.|group="nb"}}

Such a strain of dance and song;
Oh what notes of dance and song;
Such a flood of effulgence in my heart—
Inside the mind is a light-flood!
I have transcended all bounds on hearing
Once lost, now waiting, I am hearing
The call of total attainment.
The cry that I've attained everything.

With no direction in this sweet song,
I was going nowhere... with such sweet song,
How does the summons guide me?
Who is He that gave to me this call?
Between the lines it is He
Apart from the words, hidden is He,
Who keeps calling me.
The One Who is calling me.

After darkness, light.
After darkness came the light;
Suddenly my life is fulfilled—
Suddenly, my life was satisfied.
My whole heart overflows
It was filling my entire mind...
With divine sound.
The unstruck chord divine.{{#tag:ref|This is a reference to the cosmic ''oṋḿkára''. For more information, see [[The Glory of Pranava]].|group="nb"}}

Akash vatas sudhanirjas is the 35th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2][3]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ákásh vátás sudhánirjás
Krśńa megher d́ák
Hrday májhe madhur báje
Páiṋcajanya sháṋkh

E ki nácer gáner tán
E ki hiyáy álor ván
Háriye dishe shuńchi base
Sab peyechir d́ák

Niruddeshera páne eman madhur gáne
Ke se ámáy diye gela d́ák
Kathár pháṋke pháṋke se je
Dicche ámáy d́ák

Aṋdhárer pare álo
Hat́hát ámár práń juŕálo
Sakal hiyáy bhare gela
Anáhater vák

Sky and air are nectar's essence;
From dark clouds comes a summons.
Sweetly sounding in the core of heart
Is Páiṋcajanya[nb 2] conch.

Oh what notes of dance and song;
Inside the mind is a light-flood!
Once lost, now waiting, I am hearing
The cry that I've attained everything.

I was going nowhere... with such sweet song,
Who is He that gave to me this call?
Apart from the words, hidden is He,
The One Who is calling me.

After darkness came the light;
Suddenly, my life was satisfied.
It was filling my entire mind...
The unstruck chord divine.[nb 3]

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[4]

Paramapuruśa, Who is also known as Lord Krśńa, has come so close to me; and I am listening to the sweet music of His flute. This flute sound of Paramapuruśa, this internal sound, is the oṋḿkára sound. Because of my coming in close proximity to His divine presence, I hear that divine sound; and I find that the sky, the air, and everything of this universe has been filled with divine nectar and charged with divine fervor. I hear that cosmic sound of that cosmic flow. Now there is nothing left to be attained. Everything has been attained.
