Sei durjog bhará támasii nishiithe
Tomáre peyechi mor káche
Mana májhe priya mana májhe

Takhan úśár udaye d́her derii chilo
Citi samvit ghume d́háká chilo
Trasta paráńe dhvasta manane
Tumi dhará dile smita sáje

Balivár mor kichui chilo ná
Patha calivár pátheya chilo ná
Diipta áshár eśańá chilo ná
Udvel haye madhu láje

সেই দুর্যোগ-ভরা তামসী নিশীথে
তোমারে পেয়েছি মোর কাছে
মন মাঝে প্রিয় মন মাঝে

তখন ঊষার উদয়ে ঢের দেরী ছিল
চিতি-সম্বিত ঘুমে ঢাকা ছিল
ত্রস্ত পরাণে ধ্বস্ত মননে
তুমি ধরা দিলে স্মিত সাজে

বলিবার মোর কিছুই ছিল না
পথ চলিবার পাথেয় ছিল না
দীপ্ত আশার এষণা ছিল না
উদ্বেল হয়ে মধু লাজে

O lord, during that dark night full of dangers, i found
you close to me. then much delay was there for the sunrise.
The awakening of consciousness was covered under slumber.
With terrorstricken life and destroyed mind, you came into folds
with smiling decoration. i had nothing to speak; there
was no means for moving on the path. there was no
earnest desire for a brilliant goal to make restless with sweet shyness.
