O lord,
In forest and in garden ever seeking,
even constantly searching you
Nowhere do I meet with Thee.
in forests and in groves,
On mountain, in the sea, or over the galaxy,
I was unable to see you.
Where You are, that is a mystery to me.

in mountains, oceans or in galaxies.
To consider, aren't You curious a little?
One whose whole life has been offered,
In Your mind is there no place for him?

Do not you have feelings
Today I've understood that You've stayed in the mind;
for those who love you dearly?
The psychic realm have You kept making bright.

Always searching in the world outside,
Don't you have any place in your mind
I would send away the One Who remains nigh.
for those who offer their life to you?

Today, i understood
that you reside in my mind only
and that you illuminate it.

Struggling to search you in the outer world,
I had only sent my nearest away from you.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Vane upavane khuṋjiyá khuṋjiyá
Konakháne tava dekhá ná pái
Bhúdhare ságare niiháriká pare
Kotháy ácha tá jáná nái

Je tomáre bhálobáse tár kathá
Bhávite náhi ki kona vyákulatá
Tomáre jiivan je diye diyeche
Tár tare mane náhi ki t́háṋi

Áj bujhilám manete rayecha
Manobhúmi álo kariyá rekhecha
Báhir vishve khuṋjiyá khuṋjiyá
Káchere dúre pát́háte cái

In forest and in garden ever seeking,
Nowhere do I meet with Thee.
On mountain, in the sea, or over the galaxy,
Where You are, that is a mystery to me.

One who is in love with You, his[nb 2] words
To consider, aren't You curious a little?
One whose whole life has been offered,
In Your mind is there no place for him?

Today I've understood that You've stayed in the mind;
The psychic realm have You kept making bright.
Always searching in the world outside,
I would send away the One Who remains nigh.
