Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámi to tomáre bhávini jiivane
Tumi mor kathá bhevecho
(Mor) Kśudra hrdaye gopane gahane
Nije sthán kare niyecho

Puiṋjiibhúta je megh chilo mane
Ahamiká asmitá sambharańe
Saráile dúre tumi táhádere
Shata krpá kare káche t́ániyácho

Alakár álo agatira gati
Práńera puruś náo go prańati
Diyecho dyotaná dile saḿdhrti
Samvit diye cetaná diyecho

I did not imagine You in my life;
Yet You've been thinking of me.
In a hidden, hard-to-reach place in my puny mind,
You've made Yourself a lodging.

The clouds that had amassed in my mind,
An aggregate of vanity and pride,
You drove those clouds far away,
And drew me near through countless acts of grace.

Heavenly light, the one way out for the hapless,
Oh, the soul of life, please accept my homage.
Patiently attending me, You have given inspiration;
Now, having wakened me, You've given realization.
