Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bhálabesechile jáni
Kena mor ghare ele ná
Kathá diyechile bhulini
Kena kathá rákhile ná

Álpaná ájo duyárete áche
Tava tare ghar sájáno áche
Cikure keyúr ájo báṋdhá áche
Gáṋthá málá gale nile ná

Mánasa pradiip ájo jvaliteche
Ghrta o salitá ekhano rayeche
Áshár ákuti nayane bhásiche
Mor páne tákále ná

O Lord, I know You loved,
but why did not You come into my home?
I have not forgotten that You gave the word,
why did not You keep the word?
Even today the welcome mark
remains painted at the door.
The home remains decorated for You.
The tress of hair is even today
decorated with the ornamental griddle,
You did not accept and place on Your neck
the threaded garland.
The mental lamp is glowing even today
and contains the ghee and the wick even now.
The earnestness of hope appears into the eyes.
Why did not You look towards me?
