Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Duhkhe sukhe áshá-niráshá pháṋke
Áṋdháre áloke mor din cale jáy
Kabhu bujhi nikat́e uśasii nát́e
Sonáli tat́e tava álo jhalakáy

Cái áro káche eso he prabhu ámár
Sab abhiprakásher tumi samáhár
Sakal avastháy sárátsár
Smita utpal tumi citi amaráy

Máni ámi trut́i bhará náhi sádhaná
Neiko rtambhará drŕha eśańá
Tabu káche ásite náiko máná
Aruń dyuti tumi jiivanabeláy

Twixt grief and gladness, in chinks between hope and despair,
With both gloom and luster my days go by.
At any time Dawn may draw nigh upon the dance stage;
On golden shore might coruscate Your light.

Hey my Lord, I want that You come closer please;
Of all the great pageantry You are the totality.
The essence of essence in all happenings,
You're the bright blue lotus in the Heaven of mind.

I am sinful, and mine is no sadhana, I concede;
For the Supreme Being is no steadfast longing.
Nevertheless, there's no prohibition to come near;
You're the crimson glow on the coast of life.
