Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Jhalamala álote dhará tumi dáoni
Duhkher ashruniire esechile sakhá
Sájáno vediir páne bhuleo tákáoni
Vyathár ártanáde diyechile dekhá

Shrávańer meghabhár esechilo jiivane
Uttál úrmi bheuṋgechilo svapane
Keu chilonáko káche sabe bhaye dúre geche
Tumi eká ese' balechile nai eká

Vahnir dahane varuńer tánd́ave
Pratiksańe sáthe chile sab bháve abháve
Saroni dúre kabhu sharańe rekhecho prabhu
Eṋkecho dagdhabhále durjaya t́iká

You did not surrender to glittering light-rays;
Upon tears of grief, Bosom Friend, You had come.
Toward a decorated altar, You didn't gaze, even by mistake;
Upon wails of pain You had granted vision.

With Shravan's load of clouds, in life You had appeared;
Billowy waves, they had shattered in dream.
None were close, all have gone far away in fear;
You alone, having come, had said I'm not abandoned.

With Neptune's tandav, like a fire's burning,
Each moment You were with me, in all my dearth and plenty.
Never You withdrew afar, Lord, under shelter You have kept;
On a singed forehead You've traced an unbeatable tika.
