Kena krśńa sajal tithite (Tumi) Ásibe ná ár ghanashyám Mathurár kárá puriite (Álo) Jválibe náki guńadhám Gośt́her dhenu tava náme máti Shuńibe ná báṋshii ár káń páti Álokojjvala thákibe ná ráti Nandanilaye abhirám Jamunár jale jágibe ná d́heu Kálo rauṋe dekhite tomáy keu Tamálapuiṋje niipanikuiṋje Nácibe ná gopii avirám	কেন কৃষ্ণ সজল তিথিতে (তুমি) আসিবে না আর ঘনশ্যাম মথুরার কারা-পুরীতে (আলো) জ্বলিবে নাকি গুণধাম গোষ্ঠের ধেনু তব নামে মাতি' শুণিবে না বাঁশী আর কাণ পাতি' আলোকোজ্জ্বল থাকিবে না রাতি নন্দনিলয়ে অভিরাম যমুনার জলে জাগিবে না ঢেউ কালো রঙে দেখিতে তোমায় কেউ তমালপুঞ্জে নীপনিকুঞ্জে নাচিবে না গোপী অবিরাম	O Lord Krs’n’a, would You not come again at this dark and cloudy hour of the night? Into this prison house of Mathura’, would You not kindle light, O repository of attributes? The cows in the byre are frenzied at Your name, and would not listen to Your flute paying heed to it. In the beautiful palace of king Nanda, nights would be no more be brightly illuminated. Will not the waves rise in Yamuna’ water again? Will not anyone see You it its dark colored water? Will not the gopiis, cowherdesses, dance in the clusters of tama’l (palm) trees and kadamba groves?
