Madhumálatiir mane kii máyá chilo
(Tá) Jáne ná loke
Jyotsnáloke se kii kathá kahilo
Bujhechilo shasháuṋke

Balechilo sabe cale ei carácare
Áse ár cale' jáy keu ná rodhe káháre
Alakápuriir priiti jhare sabákár pare
Ujjvala aruńáloke

Áro balechilo eki[nb 2] priyatama sabákár
Smitashuci shubhauṋkara sarvádhár
Se cira alakhadyuti tári paramá priiti
Prati palake jhalake

মধুমালতীর মনে কী মায়া ছিল
(তা) জানে না লোকে
জ্যোৎস্নালোকে সে কী কথা কহিল
বুঝেছিল শশাঙ্কে

বলেছিল সবে চলে এই চরাচরে
আসে আর চলে' যায় কেউ না রোধে কাহারে
অলকাপুরীর প্রীতি ঝরে সবাকার পরে
উজ্জ্বল অরুণালোকে

আরো বলেছিলো একই প্রিয়তম সবাকার
স্মিতশুচি শুভঙ্কর সর্বাধার
সে চির অলখদ্যুতি তারই পরমা প্রীতি
প্রতি পলকে ঝলকে

What had been the magic in a Rangoon-creeper mind?
Knows that not a person.
What tale did she tell regarding rays of moonlight?
Lunar digits she had fathomed.

She had told: "Everybody moves in this Creation;
All come and go off, none impedes anyone.
Upon everybody emanates Providential love,
Like a crimson light lustrous."

Yet more she'd told: "There is only one Who is Dearest of all,
The smiling, pure, well-intending, Cosmic Source.
He is the ever-unseen splendor, His alone the Love Supreme;
He is dazzling every second."
