Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ogo prabhu ámár ghare
Ásbe náki pather bhule
Málá gáṋthá vrthá ki jábe
Álpaná jábe viphale

Gán racechi sur sedhechi
Priitir arghya sájáyechi
Maner kone sauṋgopane
Mańikádiip rekhechi jvele'

Maner viińátantrii ámár
Geye cale mantra tomár
Jantra ámi jantrii tumi
Komal kare nebe ki tule'

O Lord, would not You come to my home,
even by forgetting the path.
Would my threading of garland be waste
and decorating the door useless?
I create song, rehearse the melody,
and decorate the offering of love.
In the recess of the mind, secretly,
I have kept the gem lamp glowing.
The strings of my mental viin'a',
go on singing Your mantra.
I am instrument, You are operator,
would You lift me up with soft hands?
