Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Phulera málá varańad́álá
Vrthái sájáno tomár tare
Prahar cale geche din cale jáy
Ásibe ná mane hay ámár ghare

Viháne aruń-ráge tumi hesecho
Sáṋjher shephálii phule bháve bhesecho
Ráter jyotsnáráshite mishecho
Nandana candane hrday bhare

Ámár kathá tabe kena shono ná
Ámár maner vyathá kena bojho ná
Ámár áshár diipe kena áso ná
Mariicimáliir veshe bhásvara kare

Floral garland and a wicker basket,[nb 2]
They're arrayed for Your sake fruitlessly.
The day goes away, watches[nb 3] have passed;
It seems that You won't come to my dwelling.

In the crimson color at daybreak You have smiled;
Upon thought You've risen like a bloom, evening's lady of the night.
You have mingled with night's heap of moonlight;
With a pleasing sandal-paste, heart is brimming.

Even so, why don't You hear my words;
Why don't You fathom my heart's anguish?
Why don't You come under my hope's lantern,
In the sun's garments, illuminating.
