Se din sandhyáy smita vasudháy
Tumi esechile mor ghare
Chanda chilo mane ánanda dhyáne
Aiṋjan eṋke dile áṋkhi pare

Shiyare rekhe hát kathá kahile
Nimeśe sab vyathá saráiyá dile
Balile náhi bhay jhaiṋjhá jhaŕ ele
Ámi áchi tomáre ghire

Ot́há-námá ár patan-abhyuday
Calár pathe áse o kichu nay
Lakśya sáthe rekhe calio nishcay
Mánavatár jay ániváre

সে দিন সন্ধ্যায় স্মিত বসুধায়
তুম এসেছিলে মোর ঘরে
ছন্দ ছিলো মনে আনন্দ ধ্যানে
অঞ্জন এঁকে' দিলে আঁখি 'পরে

শিয়রে রেখে' হাত কথা কহিলে
নিমেষে সব ব্যথা সরাইয়া দিলে
বলিলে নাহি ভয় ঝঞ্ঝা-ঝড় এলে
আমি আছি তোমারে ঘিরে'

ওঠা-নামা আর পতন-অভ্যুদয়
চলার পথে আসে ও কিছু নয়
লক্ষ্য সাথে রেখে' চলিও নিশ্চয়
মানবতার জয় আনিবারে

On a smiling Earth that day at dusk,
You'd come to my dwelling.
In mind there'd been inclination, joy in meditation;
Upon eyes You let be traced antimony.

Hand held on head, You did speak,
All pain removing instantly.
You said: "Came storm and gale, but don't fear;
Around you I am here.

"Rise-and-fall, also contraction-and-expansion
Appear on the journey, but they're as naught.
Your aim having retained, proceed with conviction,
Bringing forth the victory of humanity."
