Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Sudúr ambare meghad́ambaru
Báje viśáń tomár káṋpe sárá carácar
Pracańd́abháve jabe náco táńd́av
Jata kaluś kálimá haye jáy chár-khár

Avyartha amogh trishúle
Páparáshi bhese' jáy kothá' samúle
Tumi tamo násho at́t́a háso
Trtiiya nayane dáho jata avicár

Duśt́adaman tumi shiśt́apálan
Sabár priya tumi trilokashobhan
Tava rudraváńe kothá jáy ke jáne
Dharańii theke sare jata durácár

On far-distant firmament a damaru of clouds
Sounds Your clarion,[nb 2] and quakes all of Creation.
When You dance tandava with furious ideation,
All the filth and gloom, demolished it be.

Through an infallible trident,
Heaps of sin, root and branch, float off whence.
Vice You rid, aloud You laugh;
By third eye any injustice You sear.

Subduing evil, You're protector of the righteous;
Beauty of the universe, You're the love of everyone.
Who knows whereto it departs by Your darts dreaded;
From the earth all depravity retreats.
