Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tu jakhan áschili mur
gharke re nit́hur
Mu takhan bhálchili tuke
maul rukher áŕále baisye
Tur cikan shyámal
ánan komal hásite madhur
Chilo je mur nayane mishye

Mur áṋkhir kájal
bháveri jal ek haye baitechilo dhárá
Maner mayúr máthár keyur
nácchilo haye átmahárá
Tu hat́hát ese'
kár áveshe geli cale kun se videshe

Sei theikye man
kathá shune ná kona mánái mur máne ná
Belá abelá jáne ná
tuke cháŕá kichu cáhe ná
Ráte dine
sáṋjh viháne tukei khuṋje pátál ákáshe

O Merciless, when You were coming to my home,
I was watching You from behind the (maul) mahua tree.
Your soft dark complexion face wore sweet smile.
That got mingled in my eyes.
The dark kohl mark and the tears of emotion,
mixed together flowed as one stream.
My mental peacock crowned on the head,
danced in self-oblivion.
You came suddenly, with whose impulse
and went away far off.
Since then my mind does not heed to me.
It has lost the consideration of time
and does not want anything other than You.
It goes on searching for You only
day and night, morning and evening
in all sky and netherworlds.
