Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi bhálor bhálo sabár mukha ceye
Tumi álo ániyácho áṋdhár beye
Tumi chande gáne smitánane
Bádháy jujhiyácho priiti diye

Tomár keu par nái sabái param átmiiya
Sabái cokher mańi sabái priya
Sabár kathá bheve nije pathe neve
Sabáy sauṋge niye jáo egiye

Kata ráter tapasyá amánisháy
Kata cápá vyathá ná-balá bháśáy
Tumi sabe chile bháve bhariye dile
Kole nile je chilo dhúloy lut́iye

You're better than good, to every look compared;
Crossing the darkness, You have brought light rays.
Through cadence and song, Yourself with smiling face,
By means of love, obstacles You've assailed.

No one is Your stranger, everyone the closest kin;
Everyone the gem of eye, everyone beloved.
In person upon path having alit, thinking of every tale,
With everybody You proceed apace.

Such nocturnal penance on nights of the new moon;
So much pain was repressed, through language mute.
You had been with all, in thought You did pervade;
Those who'd been rolling in dust, upon lap You did take.
