Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Vasanta maiṋjarii eso eso
Khaiṋjarii d́eke cale tomáre
Kishalay váte eso kavośńasaiṋcarii
Manamaiṋjile jhauṋkáre

Shiit jái jái kare parńa paŕeche jhare
Atithi vihauṋgerá nija deshe jáy uŕe
Ár kena ácho dúre eso káche tvará kare
Sabár bhitare báhire

Pika dhariyáche gán anyerá kalatán
Maner mayúr náce bhule jata abhimán
Sájáye rekhechi d́álá maner mohan málá
Ogo priya tomári tare

Spring tulsi[nb 2] please come out, please come out;
A wagtail bird, to you she goes on calling.
Neath the lukewarm air current, fresh leaf please appear,
At the mental mansion with sound of gentle jingling.

Winter makes everything a feather that's been falling;
The guest-birds in your own land, they go off flying.
Why be distant any longer, please come close in a hurry,
Both inside and outside of everybody.

The cuckoo has clung to song... sweet notes from others;
Ignoring all wounded pride, the peacock of mind dances.
Psyche's charming garland, arrayed I've kept a basket,[nb 3]
Hey my Darling, for the sake of You only.
