Come back, my Lord, in rhythm and song.
Oh Lord, with rhythm and song reply to me;
Come back, my Lord, in dance and cadence.
Master, give Your answer with dance beat,
O my dearest and most revered,
Oh Dearest Dear, my Deity...
When lethargy prevailed, You Yourself shattered it.
In person, You did break my sleep;
Come dancing in rhythm, come dancing in rhythm.
Kindly arrive with a dance beat.

Blinded by the world, I was benighted.
By worldly darkness I'd been stupefied;
Like the sun You came into my life anew.
Like the sun You came anew into my life.
With Your lustrous beauty, what did You do?
What's this You did through splendrous light...
You painted my life, my mind, with Your color.
My life and mind, with hues You made them bright;

Now, with dance beat, please do arrive.
You entranced my mind, entranced my mind.
To my psyche, You have brought great delight;
Come dancing in rhythm, come dancing in rhythm.
Now, with dance beat, please do arrive.
Piercing all fog, enter the core of my heart.
Piercing all fog, You entered this heart mine;
Now, with dance beat, please do arrive.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Dáo sáŕá ogo prabhu chande gáne

Ogo priyatama devatá ámár
Nidrá jakhan tumi nije bháuṋgále

Tumi mane mátále mane mátále
Eso nrtye tále eso nrtye tále
Sab kuheliká bhedi marme ele
Eso nrtye tále eso nrtye tále

Oh Lord, with rhythm and song reply to me;
Master, give Your answer with dance beat,
Oh Dearest Dear, my Deity...
In person, You did break my sleep;
Kindly arrive with a dance beat.

By worldly darkness I'd been stupefied;
Like the sun You came anew into my life.
What's this You did through splendrous light...
My life and mind, with hues You made them bright;
Now, with dance beat, please do arrive.
To my psyche, You have brought great delight;
Now, with dance beat, please do arrive.
Piercing all fog, You entered this heart mine;
Now, with dance beat, please do arrive.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[4]

Oh Paramapuruśa, come to me with the rhythm of Your dance and with Your sweetness. Do not come in any crude form – in the form of violence, in the form of darkness, in the form of terror. I want to have You through the sweet melody of songs and the sweet rhythms of dance. I want to be one with You through these rhythms. I was in deep slumber, and You awakened me. You led me on with Your sweetness and rhythm. You colored my life with Your color. Now, please come close to my heart. Please touch me.
