Krsna, the Nucleus of the Universe is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 September 26 in Patna, India. This discourse is the eighteenth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 2.[1]
Synopsis
Lord Krśńa said:
Ye yathá máḿ prapadyante táḿstathaeva bhajámyaham; Mama vartmánuvarttante manuśyáh Pártha sarvashah.
[I appear before a person according to his or her desires. His or her whole being will be filled with My being. All the jiivas of this universe are rushing towards Me, knowingly or unknowingly.]
Anandamurti starts the discourse by introducing the shloka: Ye yathá máḿ prapadyante táḿstathaeva bhajámyaham; Mama vartmánuvarttante manuśyáh Pártha sarvashah. What one gets depends on one's desires, and everyone is moving around Krsna (the nucleus of the universe) knowingly or unknowingly. He then gives examples to clarify this point: If someone asks for money, he may get money, but he won't get Parama Purusa; and if someone wants mukti or moksa (liberation or salvation), he may get it, but he won't get Him. So the most intelligent thing to do will be to ask for for Him and Him alone, not in order to get pleasure from Him but to serve Him and give Him pleasure. Anandamurti goes on explaining the second part of this shloka: One cannot avoid moving around the nucleus (Krsna) either from a short radial distance or from a longer one. This path is followed by everyone. There is no other path.[1]
