Guru Prańáma is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 October 10 in Patna, India. This discourse is the ninth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 3.[1]

Synopsis

As I have said so many times, human sadhana is a movement from electronic imperfection to nuclear perfection. The nuclear perfection is That, and this electronic imperfection is you. You are That. The stage of "are" is your spiritual practice. Your are That, you – That – are. This "are" is the gap to be bridged by sádhaná. So you are That. The Guru's words, the Guru's secret instruction, or gospel, or text, or sermon, is, "O my little boy, O my little girl, thou art That."

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

In this discourse, Anandamurti explains the meaning of Guru Prańáma.

Nityánandaḿ paramasukhadaḿ: The Supreme entity is forever enjoying bliss, while human beings enjoy also worldly happiness. God is the source of all material enjoyments. Kevalaḿjiṋánamúrttim: Parama Purusa is the non dualistic entity, which means that Satan does not exist. Merging in Him is the zenith of human existence. Vishvátiitaḿ gaganasadrshaḿ Tattvamasyádilakśyam: With the help of the operative principle (Prakriti) something tangible is created. When the unit being asks "Who am I?", the Guru's answer is "You are That." Sadhana lets unit entities lessen the gap between themselves and the Supreme until they can merge in Him.[1]
