Synopsis
"The big devotees have taken away Your mind. You have lost Your mind. So there is a shortage of one thing, a shortage of mind. But Lord, You needn't be disappointed. I have a mind with me – take that mind. I offer it to Thee. Tava dravyaḿ Jagatguro tubhyameva samarpaye Everything of mine, along with my mind, is offered at Your altar. Please oblige and accept it.".
In this discourse Anandamurti interprets the Prańáma Mantra, Tava dravyaḿ Jagatguro tubhyameva samarpaye. Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that Tava dravyaḿ means your property, and Jagatguru means the Guru of all moving phenomena. Everything in this universe is created and owned by Parama Purusa. We can only "create" that which already exists within His vast macrocosmic mind. Anandamurti then explains that jiṋániis (intellectuals) think that nothing can be offered to Him who owns all. On the other hand, devotees accept the premise that everything is owned by Him; but still they offer their own minds to Guru, recognizing the power of ego. Anandamurti goes on explaining the position of devotees: "The Lord's mind," they say, "had been snatched away." To please Him, they offer their own mind its place.[1]
