Tumi kena phire cáo ná
Kumud tákáy cáṋder páne
Cáṋd kena dekhe dekhe ná

Kata tithi keṋde ket́eche
Kata viithi dhuye geche
Kata phule rauṋ dhareche
Se phul áji jáy ná cená

Tomár mane ámi áchi
Rauṋete rauṋ miliyechi
Varńacchat́áy bhule gechi
Nijeke bujhite pári ná

আমি তোমায় ভালবাসি
তুমি কেন ফিরে’ চাও না
কুমুদ তাকায় চাঁদের পানে
চাঁদ কেন দেখে’ দেখে না

কত তিথি কেঁদে’ কেটেছে
কত বীথি ধুয়ে গেছে
কত ফুলে রঙ ধরেছে
সে ফুল আজি যায় না চেনা

তোমার মনে আমি আছি
রঙেতে রঙ মিলিয়েছি
বর্ণচ্ছটায় ভুলে’ গেছি
নিজেকে বুঝিতে পারি না

Why then don't You want me too?
A lily gazes at the moon;
Why does moon not likewise do?

Many lunar days have passed crying;
Many vistas have gone, washed away.
In a bloom many shades have adhered,
But now that flower, it turns strange.

In Your mind, I exist;
In Your hue, my tints I have blended.
Mid the color-splendor I have got forgotten;
My own self I cannot comprehend.
