Devotion is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 September 1 in Patna, India. This discourse is the thirtieth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 1.[1]
Synopsis
What is then the most precious thing in human life? It is devotion. If one has gotten devotion, one has gotten everything, and nothing remains unrealized. Devotees have to serve the Lord.=Shrii Shrii Anandamurti
On this discourse Anandamurti is explaining a shloka: Bhaktirbhagavato sevá bhaktih premasvarúpińii,Bhaktiránandarúpá ca bhaktih bhaktasya jiivanam. Bhakti means calling the Suprem with sincere love and devotion. Serving Bhagavan (He who possesses these qualities: aeshvarya, pratapa, yasha, shrii, jinana and vaeragya) means serving Hi's creation. Anandamurti then explains the seven qualities, for example the term "Yasha" means the entity which depolarizes humanity into moral versus immoral people. He goes on saying that devotion is the essence of life for a devotee, the pure love of heart which accelerates one's movement towards God and it's feasible expression is the service to all created beings.[1]
