Synopsis
“O Mahádeva, I do not know how Thou art, what Thou art, because an individual with his finite brain cannot comprehend these things.” That’s why the sádhaka says: Tava tattvaḿ na jánámi, Ahaḿ Tava tattvaḿ na jánámi, Ahaḿ Tava tattvaḿ na veda – “I do not know how Thou art, what Thou art, but I prostrate before Thee. I do not know what Thou art, but whatever Thou art, I prostrate before that Thou.” Yádrsho’si Mahádeva tadrsháya.=Shrii Shrii Anandamurti
Anandamurti starts the discourse by explaining that the name Ra'ma means the one who gives Supreme joy, that which is beyond mundane pleasure. Anandamurti then says that Shiva was a great yogi master that always kept a spiritual union with the supreme self. both names mean supreme consciousness. Anandamurti goes on explaining that the name Mahádeva means the hub of all vibrations emanating from the supreme factor. We bow before that Supreme Lord with multifarious names.[1]
