Mental Equipoise is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 August 27 in Patna, India. This discourse is the twenty fifth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 1.[1]
Synopsis
Do not despise even the most fallen, the most sinful, and the most wretched. You will degenerate mentally and spiritually if you hate anyone.
Lord Buddha said: Win falsehood by truth (satya,) Win the miserly with generosity, Win anger by non-anger.
Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that human beings more than anything else seek mental quietude. He then explains that one should fight injustice while keeping the mind free of angry resentments against anyone. Anandamurti goes on saying that one should remain nonchalant to both praise and censure as Lord Buddha demonstrated while faced with abuse and denigration.="AV1"/>
