Can Women Attain Salvation? is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 october in Patna, India. This discourse is the first chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 3.[1]

Synopsis

Those vested interests, or those who had vested interests in the realm of religion, not spirituality, used to say that salvation is only for males. They perpetrated their exploitation over females for an indefinite period. This was the psychology. They were guided by this psychology. That is why they used to say that salvation and emancipation are for males only.

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

Anandamurti starts the discourse by presenting a question that was posed to Him: "Are women entitled to get emancipation, yes or no?" According to tantric spiritual practice, the minimum requirement for self-realization is having a human body. That alone makes it obvious that women can get salvation. Anandamurti then explains that since time immemorial, religious scriptures perpetrated distinctions among females and males with a deliberate agenda of exploiting women. Anandamurti goes on explaining that all entities are descendants of Parama Purusa. Animals too, although they possess no human structure, can attain salvation if only He desires.[1]
