Everybody Obeys Him is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 October 16 in Patna, India. This discourse is the fourteenth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 3.[1]
Synopsis
Taddhávato’nyánatyeti tiśt́hat tasminnápo mátarishvá dadháti. Everybody obeys Him. Everybody will have to do according to His desires, according to His laws, according to the laws created by Him for the welfare of the entire creation. And that is why air, water, light and so many entities are doing their prescribed duties and will have to do their prescribed duties. There is no alternative.
Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that the only way to surmount maya is through surrender to the Supreme. Anandamurti then explains that avidyamaya is the force that broadens the angle of radius between the Lord and the devotee, while vidyamaya shortens it. Both are useful for maintaining balance in the universe. Praise or punishment are for good reason. Anandamurti goes on explaining that the greatness of God cannot be conceived by unit beings. Logic, philosophy or science will not be able to catch Him. Humans will have to obey His laws and fulfill their duties for the benefit and welfare of all.[1]
