The Complications of Doing Evil is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. This discourse is the 26th chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 1.[1]

Synopsis

According to Anandamurti, a a human being should never do pápa, what he should do is pratyaváya. One should never steal, but try to help and assist others. Papa seems good and enjoyable until as long as we do not get the reaction of it. While doing evil, people may enjoy themselves, but ultimately it leads to only misery.

Anandamurti also discusses the difference between “svaccha” and “bhadra”. The term "Svaccha" means good or clean; for example, the water is "svaccha" (clean) and the term "Bhadra" means both internally and externally good.A bhadra person remains careful about what he does or speaks. They perform good works and keep doing good
