The Supreme Magician is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 September 15 in Patna, India. This discourse is the eighth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 2.[1]
Synopsis
What is immortality? Everything in this universe is subject to wanings and decayings, but the Supreme Veracity remains unchanged, unmetamorphosed. So, the man, the aspirant, the intelligent aspirant taking shelter in Him, also attains immortality. That is why He is known as “Mrtyurmrtyu”.
Anandamurti starts the discourse by comparing the creator of this universe to a magician. Everything is controlled by him and therefore he is called Iishvara. He then explains that the charm of his magic is temporal, waning. Anandamurti goes on explaining that an intelligent spiritual aspirant will direct his love to the Supreme creator(The magician) because He is the only permanent and immortal entity.[1]
